Baha Mar Resort Planned in the Bahamas

The Bahamas will be welcoming the incoming $1.6 billion Baha Mar mega-resort in Nassau. Highlights include more than 3,500 hotel rooms, a 95,000-square-foot Harrah's casino with a 1,000-room Caesars Resort Hotel, an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus golf course, a retail village, luxury spas and many other amenities covering 1,000 acres. Starwood will offer four of its top brands: a 300-room W, including 100 condo units; a 300-room St. Regis, including 100 condo units; a 700-room Westin; and a 700-room Sheraton. That's not all! They are planning to open an eco-water park with a "show-lake" for live events, 175,000 square feet of meeting space and a 50,000-square-foot village with upscale retail, chef-branded restaurants, and entertainment venues in 2010. The existing 550-room Wyndham Nassau Resort property is also planned for renovation making a total of 3,550 guest rooms, Yeah ... they're calling it the largest in the Caribbean.
