The palace of Versailles in France
The Palace of Versailles, easily a days trip from Paris, used to be the envy of Europe. When visiting Paris, stopping to see this grand palace with its lavish, manicured gardens, is a must for fans of history, architecture and gold-drenched luxury. Highlights include high-ceilinged rooms, erupting fountains, and off course the famous Hall of Mirrors(Where the Treaty of Versailles was signed, ending World War I). For each different part of the palace there is a separate admission. That is unless you get the one-day pass which will cost you about $25 and covers your entrance to just about everything while also allowing you to cut lines and listen to audio guides throughout your visit.
