Nikon announced that its New Nikon D80 will go on sale in September starting at $999 (body-only) or $1299 with the 18-135mm DX lens. There's a number of improvements that the New Nikon D80 boasts compared to the D70. Some of these new features include a 10.2 megapixel CCD, a considerably larger LCD, a refined 11-area AF system that before was only found in the high-end D2 series, more ISO options since now there's 100-1600, and the use of SD cards instead of the compact flash format like the D50.
