Yamaha EC-03 Scooter

This just in – Yamaha has just released its latest zero-emission electric scooter, the EC-03. Able to go 26.6 miles on a single six-hour charge, the EC-03 is powered by a 50V lithium-ion battery sourced from Sanyo. The EC-03 runs on the Yamaha Integrated Power Unit, which is designed to be compact, with a brushless DC motor, control unit, planetary gear transmission and drum brake all integrated into the 12-inch rear wheel. Set to hit Japan this September, this Yamaha scooter is charged by plugging it into a regular power outlet. The EC-03 will cost about $2,800. Yamaha.
