Dalki theme park in korea

January 13, 2006 | Comments (0) | | Destinations

Dalki-theme-park-in-korea.JPG

Dalki is a popular cartoon character like Mickey Mouse in the USA used to promote kids clothing and merchandise in Korea. Dalki theme park includes gardens, shopping, play areas and many exhibition spaces where these characters interact with visitors in a space for shopping, playing, eating, lounging and exhibits dealing with scale and nature. Dalki theme park is designed to create ”disbelief” and impede users from fully engaging the realization of this imaginary world. Sounds like going to Disney land with a bottle of whiskey.

The extra Paris is there so that you know your really attending an Authentic Crazy horse establishment, like the locations in Paris and Las Vegas. Singapore is now home to the largest and most fantastic of all Crazy Horses. Performing are 15 girls from all over Europe. From what I can see on the website, definitely a place to spend an evening for those who have an open mind.

Vacation in Maldives dos and donts

Maldives vacation.JPG

I found this interesting tidbit of info from the guys at Escapeblog. The Maldives is a Muslim Country. There are certain things that are not acceptable there like for example topless and/or naked sun bathing, that is even if you are in a resort. Other tips include
not wearing clothes that cover your knees and shoulders if entering a Mosque, not bringing in alcohol because it will be confiscated by immigration, and finally leaving you porn at home as it is illegal in the country.

rue de l'Annonciation - my little parisian paradise

August 25, 2005 | Comments (0) | | Destinations

rue-de-l-annonciation-paris.jpg

I love traveling to Paris... When I am there I always stay on a little hidden pedestrian street called rue de l'Annonciation. I believe I get a true feel for real Parisian life on this street. Sure I could have chosen to stay in an overly busy part of Paris... but then I may as well have been in any other city. Rue de l'Annonciation is the real taste of Paris, with its open fruit markets, screaming salesmen, little cafés with elegant outside seating, and a variety of neighboring shops. After scaling down almost every mile of the great city of romance I have decided that there is no other street like it. Cars are not allowed in my little paradise as people walk to buy fresh fruit and goods like strawberries, cherries, fish, and native rotisserie chicken straight from the farm. You don't have to walk too far to be reminded of Americanism though because a McDonalds is right on the corner. The menu is much different though. The street and the surrounding neighborhood are inhabited by upper class apartments with genuine architecture in the prestigious 16th district. A small convenient store lies on the corner where you can buy good French wine for less. You are only a 10 minute walk away from the subway station which is perfect for site seeing and getting around. The Eiffel tower is a 15 minute walk away and you can see its top from neighboring streets. A perfect way to really let Paris sink in!

amsterdam-segway-tours.jpg

When visiting Amsterdam, there is no better way to get acquainted with the squares and intimate canal-streets than with a Glide.cc Segway tour. The city of Amsterdam is compact enough that most everything of historical interest can be reached within a couple of hours. Choose between the day tour (“Historical Amsterdam“) or evening tour (“Native Nightlife”), and then you will cruise effortlessly through Holland’s cultural capital as you learn about it from native guides. You begin the day tour in the former waterfront (Schreierstoren) and ride to the city’s 19-century, museum-rich southern edge (Museumplein). Some of the highlights include the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Dam, Ann Frank House, Rembrandt House, and Oude Kerk (Old Church). The evening tour consists of exploring the authentic nightlife in hard to find districts like the Jordaan and De Pijp, as well as famous partying squares like the Leidseplein and Rembrandtplein. Some of the highlights include the Nes, Dam, Jordaan, Leidseplein, Max Euweplein, De Pijp, Regulierdwaarstraat, and Rembrandtplein. Tours are limited to seven participants, and cost €60 per person for either the day tour or night tour. To make reservations, those interested can visit Amsterdam Segway Tours.

Travolta happens to be my favorite actor and while visiting Cannes, France I saw this poster displayed on the wall right by the Red Carpet Palace. The movie festival had just ended but the poster was still hanging ... This picture was taken from the high point of the tower in the old town, "Le Suquet", overlooking Cannes' harbor and the sea.

I still remember it vividly... me in Cannes, France, Cote d'Azur, French Riviera... International Film Festival, beaches, grand hotels, classy shopping, Rue d'Antibes, Le Croisette seaside walk, Forville covered market... good times!

Paris - most vital connecting point

May 26, 2005 | Comments (0) | | Destinations

paris.jpg

Not fair...Paris is already the city of romance and now gets the award for the most vital connecting point for International air travel! Paris just has it all! In close second is Anchorage? Yeah that's right Alaska! The place has more animals then people and beats New York. Next in line is London, Singapore and New York. Whatever, researchers found that the busiest locations aren't always the most important for the entire network. This information may seem just for show but it actually helps with understanding the flow of travelers which is helpful in studying the potential movement of new diseases.
Still I bet Paris is really sucking it up.
