Cup ramen timer

October 28, 2005 | Household Gadgets

Cup-ramen-noodles-timer.JPG

There have been times, especially in college, when I would live only on Ramen Instant Noodles. This kitchen burner-shaped device is an "Instant Noodles Timer". After boiling water, you place the cup on the timer, which automatically shows a red light on. Then you set the handle for either 3 or 4 minutes and wait. When the time has passed, you'll hear a chime announcing that your noodles are ready. Only for cup noodles, you ask! Yes! But this proves to be a very popular product.

Analog Awakening Clock

October 5, 2005 | Household Gadgets

Analog-Awakening-clock.JPG

This is a really genuine idea for an alarm clock. The drinking glass is placed on the coaster-like clock and rests on tiny spikes, allowing it to vibrate indiscreetly when hit gently by a hammer through a hole in the top of the clock. You can alter the pitch of the alarm tone. The more water, the lower the tone. The alarm is activated by placing the glass on the clock and turned off by lifting it up. The slow rhythm and varying tone of glass followed by a sip of water creates the start of a calm and relaxed day.
